Tariq West What does "starving college student" mean? It's a recurring motif in American culture, but I've never quite understood it. I understand that it reflects some realities around the struggles that college students face, but there's more to it than that. Among other things, it's seems to be about the experience of privilege in parental households and the contrast between that and some college experiences. To be a "starving college student" did you have to be a well-fed, pampered high-school student?

Great article stanley.

I changed Major 3 times, Twice in one year, and once the year after. I did this in my first year of uni, One of the greatest choices i made. It is a waste of life to go into a major youre not passionate about, Or you think that it wont benefit you personally in the future. The weird thing is, now that i graduated and started working in my field, i realized that i want to change careers into something else. I have a B.Comm specializing in IT managemeent. B.comm is the best, ITM wasn't a good idea though.

I realized that the skills i Excel at, the ones i developped during my extra curricular activites in uni. are ones which have nothing to do with IT. so now i want to Utilize those skills and develop them.

Have you at any time decided to change fields "after" graduating from a related program?

Zack Zaban Any students caught up in group projects for their classes? Right now I'm working with a team of 5 other students in one course to create a campaign strategy and analyzing the business model of a Subway location for another. Has anyone used social media/tech innovation to make communicating easier? A lot of my groups email and use Doodle (http://doodle.com) to coordinate. Also, some people use Facebook, although I am not a huge fan of coordinating study sessions through FB.

Z. Kelly Queijo To those of you who are still undergrads, GMU and Tufts now accept college video admissions application essays (http://bit.ly/abNGKr). What do you think? Hi Kelly,

Following up, I think I should have mentioned that another option available to sole proprietors (and highly recommended) is the LLC, or limited liability company. The LLC protects your personal assets, but does not require nearly the level of formality that the corporate form does. Generally, a separate bank account and ledger should do. The LLC does not have the tax advantage I mentioned, though. If you like, you can contact me privately to discuss what would work best for you.
