I did notice something though. As I scrolled down to read one of your articles a toolbar comes up trying to get me to Digg, tweet, buzz, etc. your post. Because of that toolbar it gets in the way of reading your posts, yet there is no way to remove it. It turned me off from reading further because it's obstructing my view of your site and it may do that for your other readers. Just something I noticed and I'm just trying to help. You can ignore my comment if you'd like :)

Lindsey Donner I'm writing a travel article - both for profit, and for nostalgia! (I'm planning a return trip to Eastern Europe later on this summer.) Do any Brazeners want to pitch in their best and worst experiences of staying in hostels? I have had nothing but positive experiences, so my view of hostels might be skewed - but I'd love others' perspectives, especially if you wouldn't mind being quoted in the piece! (I'll send you a link when it's online.)

These ...MoreI strongly recommend travelers invest in a good guidebook. I prefer the "Let's Go" books, but Lonely Planet is also full of helpful hints. These books describe the ammenities available and the general price range of hostels.

It is also helpful to talk to other travelers. Usually, backpackers make their plans as they go, which means they might be booking a hostel at the last minute. Other travelers may have great suggestions of a hostel where they previously stayed. If my friends and I had listened to a fellow traveler who warned us about the awful hostel that we booked for Berlin, we could have canceled our reservation and found nicer accomodations.

Hosteling is certainly a learning experience, and the most important lesson I learned was to book online through hostelbookers.com. Hostelbookers.com is a wonderful resource for travelers as it not only lists each hostel's ammenities, but it also allows travelers to rate those ammenities. If other travelers have given the hostel a low cleanliness rating, it might be best to find another place to stay. If the hostel is rated high for location, friendliness of staff and cleanliness, you have probably found the city's haven for young travelers. My friends and I attempted to book a hostel in Florence, Italy, through a different Web site, and that hostel did not exist. We arrived in Florence to find we were stranded in a foreign city without a place to stay, and we ended up losing a whole day trying to find a hotel with a vacancy durin high tourism season. The other important lesson we learned from this experience was to call the hostel or at least check the hostel's validity via another Web site, guidebook or fellow traveler who has stayed there.

Sara Gallagher I would like to get a conversation started about credibility, and what defines it for Gen Y. Today I read a high-traffic blog by someone in their mid-20s with approximately four years of total work experience...she writes career advice. I think it is common for Gen Y to brand themselves as "experts," "gurus," or "New Media specialists" with less than a few years of work history. Should this be acceptable? Does credibility even matter in an economy driven by ideas?

Even more alarming are those who pay, listen & trust these so called "experts." Who is to blame if the information or direction is misguided? Do you blame the 20something for trying to make a name for his/her self or those who seek out & run with the provided advice without asking for proof of credibility?

Cameron Plommer I want get feedback on an idea I have I think a lot of high school and college grads are at a real disadvantage when they enter the real world. School ignores so many practical skills and doesn't push students to be remarkable. I'd like to set up some kind of school, workshop or program that gives students the information, resources and motivation to be remarkable people. Which in turn will hopefully lead to better people and employees. Thoughts. Criticism. Business partners???

Penelope Trunk I wonder about this power couple topic: here's something to think about: What couple is not aiming to help each other get what each person wants? What couple is not made of two people who are ambitious about meeting their goals, whatever they are? And when, in the history of business, has there ever been a marriage with kids that survived two extremely successful careers? I think never. I think someone always steps aside to take care of family. Or there's a divorce.

There are times one of gets frustrated by the dedication of the other to their goals, but we are great about "checking" each other and keeping it from being a brewing problem.

Part of the way we have been able to do that is by me putting our kids first, him focusing on his career as necessary, but also at many times putting our kids first. When I started to want to do more work, he has been supportive. We're still finding a balance, and frankly I'm hoping to earn more so I can pay to outsource more of my household duties, but it works for us.

I think we learned very early in our relationship through trial by fire. I have no doubt that no matter what we do career-wise, our relationship and family are always first. This actually makes us more successful since we have good boundaries and only invest time and effort when and where it will help us reach our goals.
