I am here today to pitch you my idea, and I am going to talk to you as a consumer. The thing I never thought that I would want to be… until I realized that I could have it the way I wanted. We can change the game.
Like you, I am sick of the irrelevant and senseless ads, the pop-ups, and the loud late night commercials. But instead of blocking these out of my life, I am going to change the game to meet my needs, and I am going to start by telling the world exactly what I like... http://thewildfirecompanion.com/2010/07/my-consumer-manifesto/ 80 weeks ago

A Mannequin Tale - Every day mannequins in a storefront window, a man and woman, are posed in such a way that a story unfolds. The first day the man meets the woman, the next he asks her to get coffee, then they are having coffee, then dinner, then married, honeymoon, kids. I see this as a great way to explore the depth of a clothing line that offers casual and evening-wear. People who work in the area will walk by daily and eventually notice the story unfolding.

Too much of what I buy online either doesn’t fit correctly or isn’t what I thought it was going to be. I need a store where I can try on things, and play around with the items. I think there is a niche for a mega-location that doesn’t sell a thing. It just stocks one of everything, sent by manufacturers as display items. There are computer bays where you can purchase the items online. I would call it The Himalayas. It’s the perfect compliment to Amazon.

With virtual stores like @amazon where you can buy anything, we need a real store where you can try everything. Call it The Himalayas. http://bit.ly/9SA6pq

Amazon.com needs a 'buy local' option. I would love the option to see that I could buy it from 100 miles away rather then 1000 miles away. With the rise of amazon.com, this option is necessary for a sustainable future.

What if we could make an app for personal achievements? It could be a cross-breed of a public to-do list and a wish list. Instead of updating your Facebook friends that you ran a half marathon you could share your 13 Miles Further Than You badge with them. I would be very interested in seeing such an app.

After watching the White House Conference on the Great Outdoors live-streamed at whitehouse.gov/live, I came away asking myself what I could do to bring the outdoors into people’s everyday lives. I came up with the “Get me the heck outta Dodge…” iPhone app. It would be a GPS-enabled app that uses google maps to find the closest parks and recreation areas close by. If you wanted to take it to the next level you could have a ratings system, user comments, trail maps, and pictures.

Settlers is always fun. Lately I've been playing a lot of "Anno 1503" - it's by the same guy who designed Settlers, kind of similar. 123 weeks ago
