Since graduating college with a BA in Journalism, I've worked in non-profit marketing and fundraising. I freelanced as an event planner for 7 years. That was a great gig! I had a kid and returned to work part-time for a large hospital system. I work now as a fundraising campaign manager.
Right now I'm making a career shift and studying for a BS in Nutrition. I want to work as a registered dietician in diabetes or obesity counseling.
My passions are, of course, food and nutrition, the train wreck that is the American diet, school lunch issues, childhood obesity, adult-onset diabetes in kids and the addiction aspect ot obesity that not many people are talking about.
All this is wraped up in the current health care legislation being discussed with so much verve.
I believe this field shows great potential for growth as obesity and diabetes rates skyrocket. I wish to network with others in health care.
