Vanessa Van Petten wrote a parenting book from the teen's perspective when she was 16, called "You're Grounded!" based on over 700 interviews with other teens and parents. While attending Emory University and getting her BA in Chinese, she published "You're Grounded!" in May 2007. Soon after You're Grounded was published, she started her blog, OnTeensToday.com to get the truth out about, youth, generation Y and how parents can connect with their kids.

OnTeensToday quickly caught on in the momosphere as the kid's voice on family values and Gen Y. Now 23, her daily blog has exploded into a parenting blog from the kid's perspective which she writes with 12 teen writers from all over the world. Van Petten posts articles, videos, screencasts and hosts live chats to offer aduls a window into the daily lives of their teens, tweens and youth.

Van Petten is now on a national speaking tour, and has been featured on CBS 4 Miami and Fox 5 New York and has been in the Wall Street Journal, MSN Money, Good Housekeeping Online, Atlanta Insite Magazine and the World Journal. She has been an expert on Playboy Radio, KBUR, WCOJ Philadelphia and more for giving a young perspective on awesome parenting.
