Kerry I recently had my CV professionally rewritten for government positions. The final product has a space for my social security number to be added before I submit my application. With the amount of identity fraud that is occurring these days, is it recommended to remove that part of the application before submitting or is it safe to assume that because it is a government application, my identity will remain safe even with my SS# on my app. Is it even necessary to have my SS# on it?

Rebecca Thorman: I think you can leave the SS# off. One of my fav HR bloggers actually just wrote about this (she agrees - leave it off). Here's the post - MoreI think you can leave the SS# off. Stacyann Forrester What is the best commencement speech you've heard so far this year? Anderson Cooper's speech at Tulane University tops my list.

I read the speech by Anderson Cooper and watched John Grisham at UNC - Chapel Hill. If you want some good comedy, the first half of John Grisham's speech is pretty funny. He also has a good message about finding your voice. I think all these successful people have a unique perspective and a few good stories to tell. It would be nice if they could all be compiled together or indexed on one web site with transcript and audio or audio and video.
