I just got a job as an online analyst/relationship manager for a selection of broadcast partners for the new Rogers on demand online television service in Canada. I love being surrounded by movies and tv all day long and had a recent epiphany that I want to creatively contribute to the industry as a screen writer. So I'll be working on my plan to get there.
I launched a blog about self discovery and inspiration with a pop culture twist (of course) around the time that I quit my job in financial services marketing (Nov 2010). It helped me rediscover my passion for creative writing and is one of the best things I ever did.
I am passionate in general, but also about arts and culture and have been a creator (dance, draw, act, write) as well as observer of various art types. I also like the internet/social media.
Supported this inspiring entrepreneur by:
• Assisting in the promotion and execution of various events (theatre, workshop, web launch event); received PR coverage on several blogs (self-wrote pieces)
• Recommending site experience improvements to new website featuring inspirational VLOG-based content (humandetour.com)
Helped inform and redefine strategy to onboard new cardmembers through benefit awareness, incentives and digital channels. Highlights:
• Received Q4 Marketing Award for managing the end to end launch of a new Online Engagement Program (email + web content) for 10 products; expected to generate $600k in year 1 profit
• Expanded reach of online program from 11% to 40% of new cardmembers through analysis and identification of key drivers of program eligibility
• Developed short and long-term recommendations to improve the online site experience upon analyzing competitor, customer and omniture qual/quant data as a taskforce team member
• Emailed postal-code targeted AIR MILES Sponsor maps with innovative campaign; achieved 50% open rate and increased transactions by 10% test vs. control
• 8.12/9 Cumulative GPA; 1st Place, 40th Anniversary Case Competition (2007)
• Teaching Assistant for “Introduction to Management Statistics” (2006-2008)
• Special Projects and Marketing Director at Schulich Newspaper (managed all elements of special editions, in addition to brainstorming and writing content)
• Vice President of Bright Ideas Consulting Group (co-lead a team of 25 to deliver tactical marketing plans to real-world clients)
