I'm basically a 32 year old introvert performer and writer living in Frederick County, Maryland, and hoping to build my freelance client base and/or establish a writing career in the arts industry somewhere.
I'm writing regularly for two publications, one traditional,(The Brunswick Citizen newspaper) and one online. (Showbizradio.net.) I also take one-off assignments when I can secure them. (I hope to spread my brand and obtain more such work through here and other places.)
I spend a lot of time acting for the stage, and pursuant to that, I keep a blog about my experiences on stage as an actor. Check it out at www.offbook.blogspot.com.
My life has been an eclectic one in many ways. I've been an FM radio announcer, sought political office, performed on stage, studied public speaking, and volunteered in a few organizations, though I have yet to find the best fit. I have struggled a bit to locate a niche, in professional, social and recreational circles. I feel like a square peg in a world full of circular holes. I talk about my struggles with such over at my other blog www.tooxyz.blogspot.com.
Covering Point of Rocks, Maryland for the Brunswick Citizen weekly newspaper. 1 or 2 articles a month, of approximately 10 inches in length. Also responsible for tracking down stories, conducting interviews, and taking/captioning relevant photographs to file with my stories.
I write a bi-monthly column, of about one typed page in length, offering advice and opinions for the stage actor. I draw upon my ten years experiences on the stage, and my education in same in college. I choose topics, write them, and send them electronically to be Washington, D.C, based editor.
Seasonal position writing usually one 30 or second second radio spot per week during the assigned period, advertising events sponsored by the Foundation and by related local institution. These were read over 2 local radio stations to drum up interest in the foundation and it's mission.
3 year extracurricular studies of terrestrial radio broadcasting, with live experience, as part of work study program.
I attended FCC to obtain general education credits between stints at different colleges, as opposed to pursuing a specific degree program while there.
