Ryan Paugh I spent part of my Thanksgiving holiday hanging out with friends in Brooklyn. I'm considering it as a solid "maybe" as the next place I'm going to live. Do any of you guys live in Brooklyn? Which neighborhood? What do you like/dislike about it?

Love Ft Greene--great restaurants, BAM, subway access at Atlantic. I'm just across the intersection there in N. Slope--and it's great and convenient as well. I don't like Williamsburg but that's maybe because I like a real neighborhood feel with architecture and coziness--not industrial. I go there to party but wouldn't live there. I only lived once in Manhattan and that's because they literally paid me to (for work--free apt) but otherwise, I never would have moved there because BK is the place to be!

Jamie Nacht Farrell As many of us are entrepreneurs/consultants, I'm wondering if any of u have come to the cross road I'm at right now. I love what I do and make great money. However, by working in the start up world (or small companies), I have SHUT OUT many learnings I could have received from HUGE company (50K + employees). By claiming to be open minded, I've actually been closed minded. I'm looking for feedback on this blog post pls. Unsure where to go next...Pls advise on blog..http://bit.ly/aGcwIs

Jamie,

There are pros and cons to big (huge) and small companies as you know. Though you may have shut out many learnings, you could possibly open many learnings at a small company. As someone who has worked with both huge and small companies, I would say the key thing to identify is what to look for in both and managing expectations, particularly for early professionals. Here's a short list:

- Small companies allow greater ease of inter-department learning, you can become proficient (more enlightened) at multiple functions (i.e. marketing, sales, design, product, etc).

- Small companies like small class rooms allow better access to business learning 101.

- Small companies enhance resourcefulness, as they typically have limited means.

- Small companied allow your contributions to see the light of day easier.

- Large companies lend brand equity to you

- Large companies extend your business 101 acumen to heightened levels of specialty

- Large companies though bureacratic in nature tend to have the capability to broaden your business horizons of all that is possible.

These are just a few, but, I would suggest that whether the company is HUGE or small, that you mind their brand relevance to their industry or consumer.

Best to you,

- T. Forte www.urbanprofessor.com

TOP IDEA: Mike Ambassador Bruny Part of my leadership program involves reading books. The last book we read was "Tribes" by Seth Godin. I really like what this guy has to say and have been inspired to lead a Seth Godin Book Club starting Jan. 2011. We will read and discuss one of his books a month for the duration of the year. I wanted to send the first invitation to my Brazen Family to both join and help shape what it will look like. You in?

Tony Forte Hey everyone. What's the most interesting use of QR code that any of you have seen recently? I was eating cereal this morning, yeah breakfast of champions (but not Wheaties), and saw a QR code on the box, I scanned it and it took me to someplace else in the world where it's morning time. Clearly brands are searching for methods of using QR code in fun and innovative ways, though the aforementioned is hardly it, I'm excited to see when someone, maybe even one of us nails it.

Steve Cleary I've always wanted to create a QR code treasure/scavenger hunt in a big city like NY or San Francisco. We'd post QR coded stickers all over town on landmarks/points of interest and obscure places alike that send a text to the participant of a clue to the next location. A back-end database will capture all the locations the user has been to and once a winner has been to every QR spot, a text can go out to everyone else that the hunt was over. I'd like to sell this as an event tool to marketers.

Steve,

This would be very effective for any metropolitan area, particularly those with developed metro trains and buses (i.e. NY, Chicago, D.C., etc.). I've definitely given the concept some thought, however, utilizing facebook and twitter to publicize the event check-in spots to the social network of participants would be quite enticing to marketers as well.

Seems like we're on the same page.

It would definitely leverage social media tools also. Of course, this may already exist, but even if it does that's not to say that a better tool can't be built. I'll have to put more research into it. But I love the idea of brainstorming with the QR Code Enthusiast community.
