Ryan Paugh What's the most important part of sending out a Press Release? Is it the messaging? Seeding it with different media outlets? How do you make sure that you have a successful release? I hate doing Press Releases .... Do any of you at major news outlets even read them anymore?

The photo.

If you can have a professionally done photo that dramatically demonstrates the advantage a product provides or illustrates the message you're trying to communicate you'll have a much better opportunity of getting press.

Think of yourself as the editor of the publication. You want to have an attractive product that your readers will be excited about. If you have a press release that is relevant to your publications audience accompanied with a great photo you will be more likely to publish the press release with a prominent position.

Don't skip or skimp on the photograph.

Dan Taylor Hey everyone, I recently started a freelancing business and I'm wondering if anyone has any words of advice for me. I've been marketing myself mostly through social media and word of mouth. You can view my website here: www.dtaylorcreative.com and my blog here: www.danthecreator.com. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Tony B. Nelson Great idea. I'd be interested in hearing what works and what doesn't for email marketing. What platforms people prefer, etc. Would be a good way to connect with good designers as well that understand the medium. Anyone know of a site that already exists like this?

Email marketing has always been limited in its delivery format and cross email client inconsistencies. Regardless of this, many email marketers are pushing the boundaries on design and what can be accomplished.

Short version, I would like to create website for people to showcase their email designs much like csselite.com that is aimed towards websites. Along with this, I would like to get email marketing professionals to blog.

What do you think?

Tony B. Nelson I used to manage a few sites SEO efforts about 10 years ago while working for a marketing firm. At the time we used Web Position Gold as a primary tool to register sites and evaluate key word success. I'm currently working with a couple new clients to do SEO on their sites. Questions: Does anyone use Web Position Gold anymore? I heard Google blacklisted them, is this true? I'm using SEO Book right now for reviewing positions etc. Any software suggestions to register sites to search engines?

They have a GREAT set of tools and other materials with their pro (and free) membership; including ones that will help you find new directories/sites to get links from, etc. In fact, I don't even have enough room here to begin talking about all their tools and how great they are. Cheers
