Ryan Paugh Would you use Twitter if it was a paid service? If your answer is yes then you're definitely in the minority. A recent survey on 2K people found that zero percent would use Twtter if they had to pay for it. I'm not surprised, are you? Read the article on ReadWriteWeb and let me know what you think >> http://bit.ly/cHmwAo

Penelope Trunk What do you guys think about Blogher? The convention. I'm supposed to be a panelist, but I'm thinking that it's full of whiny mommy bloggers who are trying to make money writing about their kids. And I should just not go. I need to decide this week. What do you think? Is anyone going?

I say "we" because I blog, my family comes up frequently, and I'm not afraid to admit it. The experience that I have gained personally about social media and blogging has translated into marketable skills that I now use in my "day job". That wasn't my goal when I started as a mom who blogs, but it sure has been a valuable asset. I'm going to Blogher '10 in NYC and would have loved to see you there. If you decide to keep the commitment, I'd be happy to meet you in person without whining once.

Alison Broomall Why does hard have to equate with something that is not enjoyable? Sticking with a job you hate is unjoyable. Working hard towards doing something that you love is the ideal. It doesn't mean that you won't be working long hours and wracking your brain to define your plan, but isn't that the fun part? Call me crazy, but I find it harder to stick with a crappy jobs or remain in a toxic work environment.

It's hard to maintain the courage because the fear inevitably creeps in. Overcoming or facing fear is a daily battle for everyone in their own way. We're wired to be afraid...and it takes work and focus to get rewired. And the end of the day though, what is the worst thing that could happen if you fall down along the way? At least you can take comfort in knowing you tried and will persevere :-)

Penelope Trunk So, I've been thinking after the webinar with Seth Godin today. I've been thinking about how he told everyone they have to be in a dip. They have to be trying to do something hard. And I have this cynical hunch that most people are not doing this. They have ideas about doing it but they're not doing it. Do you guys think I'm cynical or on target?

I think Americans often look for the easy way. But doing hard things builds character. In fact, a couple of teens, Alex and Brett Harris, started a blog called the Rebelution a few years ago to challenge their generation to "do hard things" as an antedote to the low expectations being placed on teens today. They are making a difference and there are more teens that believe in themselves and are "doing hard things." Check it out at http://www.therebelution.com/blog/.

My great-grandfather was an immigrant coal miner, I think he would find this "dip" notion funny.

So really, what do you want to do?, after you have your comforts and necessities taken care of? The sky is the limit...

I think people have gotten good at enjoying the status quo, and are scared of long term hard work to achieve something. Just look at 4 year degree graduation trends in the past X number of years...

Cameron Plommer How Do You Use Twitter? After Tweeting for about 6 months I've figured out how I like to use Twitter. I use it to just talk to people with similar interests that I never would have met. I've also used it to meet people in my city and meet up. I also use it to rant about what's bothering me, post links to cool stuff I read and my blog posts. Most of all though, I use Twitter to build relationships and feel connected to a larger group of people. I think it's all about connection

I found myself looking more curiously at my dogs after the Cesar Milan one. But I found the one about hair dye extremely interesting- especially how the two companies attracted completely different target markets. I love how in his stories there are these major lessons/take-aways, most of them business-related, but they're not so obvious that it's boring or in your face, they're just there. It's refreshing.
