My master's thesis was on the Welfare Rights Movement. After much deliberation, I used the Sociology of Knowledge as my framework, specifically Peter Berger's Social Construction of Reality. My thesis advisor was none too pleased with this, but I was able to graduate despite his outright disapproval and lack of support.
