Brett Kunsch I'm in need of a better royalty-free photo database that I can search through for my blog's visuals. I'm currently using www.photoxpress.com's free version, but there just aren't enough relevant photos. I'd be willing to pay $10/month subscription, just wanted to see what others have had success with. Thanks all!!

Single download prices (especially for low res web images) vary, so it is work looking around.

Brett Kunsch: Thanks @James. Currently, I'm doing a 30-day trial with PhotoXpress.com and I've been quite happy with what they have. Nearly 10 million RF photos.

Lindsey Sparks I'm helping Melissa Breau launch an online magazine for women ages 20-35 that is a female version of Esquire. I would like to start a column on being a married woman without children. A growing number of married women are choosing not to have kids & I don't really see this being addressed anywhere. I'm looking for ideas for a column name. Any ideas?

Something short and common like "A Table for Two," or something along those lines. I think you'll have more luck if you play off of the idea of "2" instead of filling your column name with "negative words" like "No" and "Not."

Jeremy I'm volunteering for a small non-profit in desperate need of a new website. The website content will be maintained by non-technical staff that probably shouldn't be allowed access to edit all of the code. Has anyone found a good solution for this? Any good frameworks out there to develop a site myself?

Tiffany Burke What happens when another blog says your name is infringing on their trademark? Some friends of mine have been asked to change their blog name because a larger blog claims it infringes on their trademark filings. The catch is that the "infringing" part of the name is a fairly commonly used phrase. For a little more information, you can read my blog post here: http://www.tzurin.net/?p=427 I personally feel like the larger blog is trying to bully them, but I'm not sure.

Giovanni Taylor-Peace I recently found a website called BookSneeze that provides free books to bloggers in exchange for a review (can be positive or negative) on their blog as well as the usual sites (i.e. Amazon, B&N, etc.) I think I can incorporate it into my blog but the question is will these reviews distract from my other blog content or even diminish it? Curious to see if other folks have heard of this program or have signed up already.

Vinnie Bergl During the blogging webinar a couple weeks back, the topic of hosting sites was briefly mentioned. As I recall, Penelope more or less insinuated that using anything but Wordpress is laughable. Is this common blogosphere perception? I realize that Wordpress has better commenting, and Wordpress blogs generally have more "professional" aesthetics. That said, when I'm directed to a Blogger blog, I don't automatically think amateursville. Is there something else I'm missing?

For those who are toying around with blogs and don't know if they want to commit, tumblr is a great resource to "test the waters." however, I have found that Wordpress is so much more powerful and adaptable to my needs in comparison to other platforms. The strength of Wordpress comes from the hundreds of widgets and plugins available to download.

If you keep moving you lose links and thus value to the all knowing and all judging Google Bot. Even if you move your content (unless you know how to do http redirects) you lose all the value and prominence you may have gained from Google or other people linking to your old home (content) on the net.

Melissa Breau Do you ask questions of your readers at the end of a blog post? I'm of two minds about this. I can't decide if it just makes you look dumb if no one responds & limits responses since people feel less welcome to comment if they are not directly answering the question or if it increases response rate... thoughts?

Most people have wiser up to this now, and simply asking a question doesn't seem to guarantee a response like it did.

On my blog, I often find that open posts with questions at the end DON'T get a comment, while closed posts DO! It just goes to show there are no hard and fast rules.

A couple of items: set prices for full, half, quarter, and eighth page ads. Then draft a pitch and order form, and send it to the honorees list, and your vendors.

Also, see if you can get a local printer to do the project pro bono, or at a reduced cost. For typesetting, if you can't do it in house, ask for recommendations for freelance designers.

Message me if I can be of help, and good luck!

Currently I am working with hair salons {mine} in NY and PA with hopes to expand to other states and partner with more Women's, Health Related and Beauty Industries. I appreciate any guidance, comments, suggestions from the group and emails from members. Thank you.
