TOP IDEA: Rebecca Thorman Safety doesn’t create innovation. But innovation does create new jobs and new opportunities. Innovation creates new markets and cures for illnesses and ideas that make us excited to get up in the morning. You really want to help the economy? Put yourself out there. Risk everything. Do it for you, your family, your friends. We’ll all thank you. http://modite.com/blog/2009/01/07/why-generation-y-should-job-hop-even-i...

I risked all my credit cards to start up a training software company making conversation rehearsal courses (www.talksmith.net). We sold Asperger's Syndrome courses to school districts in North Dakota and Minnesota, and while we are not wealthy, I did get a patent out of it. By the way, I grew up in Silver Spring and was a TV news cameraman on Capitol Hill in the 70's. Innovation means taking risks and going down a path whose end may not be visible. Keep on innnovating, Rebecca!

Andrew Shell I've just posted the first video interview on my new site Tech in Madison. The goal of this site is to showcase the interesting tech related people, projects and companies in Madison, WI. I'd love any feedback on the video. Was it too long? Too short? Interesting? Any suggestions of people I should interview next would also be really appreciated. Thanks! http://www.techinmadison.com/greg-tracy/

I think longer videos are okay if you give a larger summary of what's in the video so that I can skim it and know if I'm interested to watch the whole thing. I would never go above 20 minutes though (that's the max for TED videos) unless it's edited really well. Also, I think if your market is Madison, then people will be okay watching longer videos because they've heard of or know the person so the affinity will encourage them to watch the whole thing. It was still too long for me though :)

Anyway, I thought your questions were good. I liked how you dug deeper with certain areas and were curious about the path. I felt like I was eaves-dropping on a coffee shop conversation which was cool.

Ryan Paugh Hey guys. How about that heat wave? Since the weather is getting nicer and nicer I'm really thinking a lot about putting some Madison Tweet Ups together. I'm thinking that the best way to get started is to create a Brazen/Madison Twitter List. So reply below with your Twitter handle so I can start putting a list of people together.

Ryan Paugh 4 more episodes left...I'm freaking out a little bit. Let's take a poll. Who is everyone's #1 pick for the candidate that will be replacing Jacob? I'm picking Sawyer. His life in the alternate timeline doesn't seem any happier...Maybe he'll be the one to stay behind and "protect" the island. What's your pick?

Ryan Paugh Finally caught up last night! I've been ignoring you guys because I didn't want any spoilers :) I thought it was a great episode, but what happened to Ilana?! I had to get a refresher on what the conversation was like and, according to Lostpedia, it was this...

"Moments later, Desmond met Jack Shephard, while training at the same stadium. During their short conversation, Desmond suggested that Jack is running the stadium stairs because of frustration having to do with a woman. Jack confided in Desmond about his patient, Sarah, whom Jack had no hope of fixing. Desmond pointed to the possibility of miracles. Sarah's subsequent unexpected healing suggests that possibly Desmond was right."

This sounds a lot like the conversation he had with Hurley.

Steve, Smith+Fritzy -- I understood that Jacob was the cork keeping MIB from spilling out into the real world.

Richard's story seems to be a way of injecting the Jacob/MIB battle into the series just before the end of the series. The writers seem to be building up to the big finale with small pieces in each of the shows so far.

Jana -- with Widmore on the island, Desmond and Penny shouldn't be far behind.

Smith+Fritzy: Yup, tomorrow. I'll be sad if we get another lame episode, though.

Smith+Fritzy Wow... this week's episode was snoresville. On the island, it took the entire episode for them to tell us Sayid is going to turn dark or whatever like Claire. Other than that, what happened - really? The Kate parallel story blew chunks... "I know you held me at gun point, but will you come to the door with me?" Sawyer running off and Kate following. Is there a triangle anymore? I can't imagine so. I think if you replaced Evangeline with Rachel Dratch, there wouldn't be as much lady drama.

I've spent five years or whatever reading about people's crazy theories, looking waaay too deep into things, and most of it never pans out. Think about the beginning, everyone hypothesizing what the smoke monster is. Now that we "sorta" know, would we have ever guessed that? Karla Mercado Another thing: Jack seemed to recognize Desmond on the plane. But I don't think it was from the jogging stadium. On season two, Jack recognized Desmond when he said "brother." But when he did that on the plane, Jack didn't have any sort of revelation. That suggests to me that Desmond was not in that timeline. Maybe he's jumping around again!

Steve Donovan: I'm not sure if he 'recognized' him but there seems to be a sense that Jack is experiencing something by the look on his face. Deja vu maybe?

If I am following the story right, the whole parallel universe storyline has that flight safely arriving at LAX as it should have. Desmond was on the island when it crashed...in fact he was the cause of the crash. So, I do believe your theory that Desmond was not in that timeline, but even if he was, Jack wouldn't have known because at this point they are ALL strangers to one another.

Ryan Paugh So I always tell people how I wish I was on LOST's marketing/PR team because I think I could do some really cool promos. My girlfriend pointed me to this blog post today about how Kayak.com is selling fake tickets to Oceanic 815. When you click on the link, it goes to the LOST wiki. Why didn't LOST's marketing team think of this and link back to their official site??? Wouldn't that make for an awesome campaign? I feel like I missed my calling...
