Jamie Nacht Farrell People always talk about "being a loyal employee". BS - no such thing. People are loyal to themselves, most are just too unaware to realize it. Who are you loyal to? AND, if you are "loyal to yourself, how do you define what being loyal to yourself means? I'm loyal to myself; which means I am loyal to my belief system. To keep my impulsions in line, I have to list those beliefs and run every person/opportunity by them. How do you maintain loyalty to yourself? http://bit.ly/8YBjfE

Once I'm scorned, well, I won't say bad things in an interview, but I won't say good things anywhere else. There have only been two cases where I left an employer on bad terms, but both times, I went from recommending the company to everyone to telling everyone to avoid them.

Leena Chugh I find myself jumping from screening resumes to checking email to online networking just so often that I'm beginning to think-could it be ADD? Is anybody else in the same boat? Time management is my biggest challenge right now. I made a schedule and can't stick to it. The resumes come in my email so I can't close my email. A candidate calls and I do have to leave everything and take the call. Then there are the admin tasks. I think I can do better. How do you manage your 8 hours?

Let go of yourself a little bit and allow yourself to be more flexible in your approach to planning your day. Since then, I wrote 5 more blog posts about our stat & the methodology behind how we calculated. Might be helpful to read those threaded thoughts. If they took your idea and improvised there's not much you can do; if they copied your blog and credited themselves, it's plagiarism. You cannot protect ideas; but you can pursue the plagiarism issue legally. If they took the idea, they don't have to credit you, although it is rather underhanded. Determine which it is and go from there. Just be careful that how you approach it doesn't make you look like you're copying them so it reflects poorly on you. Sometimes it can come back and bite you in the end.

Marie McKinney-Oates There's an interesting conversation going on about whether or not it's wise for a couple to merge their finances. It seems like most people agree to keep things relatively separate, but I'm wondering what happens when things get tight? Like someone loses a job or makes consistently poor financial decisions? Do you begin a borrower/lender relationship? Do just tell your partner they're screwed? I mean, any setup works great when there's money in the bank, but what happens when funds get low?

When two conflicting cultures are still like Compaq and HP are still trying to make it work after all these years, it's inevitable for less-than-ideal products to roll out as a result. It's not just the commoditization of computers and printers at hand here: it's the knowledge that when HP decides to compete in markets where there are clear market leaders, coming out with offerings which are less than ideal from the get-go make an already yawn-inducing organization even more invisible. Buy at your own risk.
