FUNDRAISING/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Chairperson, Young Professionals Committee, Project Morry (formerly Morry’s Camp) Project Morry is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit; mission focuses on year-round youth development anchored by a residential summer camp with an educational concentration. Since its inception in 1996, 100% of the participants who have completed the educational component have graduated high school on time (national average is less than 50%); 100% go on to pursue higher education, military service, or join the work force. During the last 6 years, this committtee has raised more than $60k through our annual fundraiser. The committee has grown from 8 to 20 people. In this past year alone, we have raised over $14k, added 4 new committee members, and trained more than 20 new coaches. October 2003 - Present Community Advocate, Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation Organization provides academic, adult, and community support to urban youth in need of out-of-school services May 2009 - Present Participated in the Catholic Big Brother/Big Sister Program; served as mentor to an adolescent male October 1999 – August 2001 Coached soccer and hockey at a day camp for underprivileged children ages 5 - 13 June 1998 – August 1999 Worked with children diagonosed with ADD at Camp Hillard-White Plains, a summer day camp June 1995 - August 1997 Activities Coordinator, supervised team of 9 at the Ronald McDonald House; focus was on entertainment and outside programming for terminally-ill children and their families.
