Hello!
My name is Sheila Nazari and I’m a Human Resources Manager at a transportation / logistics company. I actually heard about Brazen Careerist when I was recruiting at ASU and was excited to check it out!
I started out as an intern at a consulting firm and then worked for Target Corporation as a Generalist. My Bachelor’s degree was in Mass Communication from Boston University in 2004 and my Master’s degree was in Human Resources from the University of Minnesota in 2006.
In my present role, I specialize in corporate management training, employee development, talent management, recruiting, communication, and workplace investigations. My passion lies in helping people succeed. I also volunteer at Fresh Start Women’s Organization as a Career Coach where I help women gain the skills necessary to find employment and be successful.
Being a Gen-Yer in a traditional, conservative company has also sparked my interest in the differences in generations and persuading management to understand these differences as well. It has been quite the adventure, and I think that I’ve gained some ground.
Currently I’m working on a website targeted at women in the workplace and am also hoping to start my own training and development business as well. This past year, I won the chance to go to a conference to hear Keith Ferrazzi, author of best-selling book, Never Eat Alone speak and then I sat down and talked with him and was very inspired. He talks about the power of relationships in business and about helping others.
During college, I wrote for the student newspaper, The Daily Free Press, and worked for the alumni magazine, the BU Bridge. I specialized in Public Relations and spent a semester abroad in New Zealand as an event planner at the Auckland Museum. I love to write and eventually want to write a book.
Sincerely,
Sheila Nazari
