What do I do at work? I work with college students who are in the College of Letters & Science at UW-Madison (roughly 17,000 of them, but who's counting?). There are lots of reasons they come to see me. Some want to come up with a goal for after they graduate... and a plan to reach that goal. Many want to think about their passions and how they may be able to incorporate them into their career. Others want to learn about resumes, cover letters, interviewing, or running an effective job search. Lots want to talk about the transition out of college and how it can be a scary, overwhelming, and frustrating time.
I love to listen to student's stories and help them come up with practical plans and strategies.
I also work with many of the written materials in the office (making sure our handouts look great), organize the efforts of the team of advisors and work closely with the undergraduate and graduate students who work in our office.
