Shannah Compton is one of the country’s youngest and most successful Gen X financial strategy experts. Entrepreneur and author of the widely circulated and award winning “Financial Strategies for Women” e-zine geared to Young Professional Women, Compton has been a guest speaker at conferences around the country.
Although she is only 31, Compton, who lives in West Hills, Calif., is a true veteran in the business world. At age 19, she founded and ran her own film festival, Hometown Cinema, Inc., and at age 28 she earned her MBA from Pepperdine University. Today, she is a partner in an award-winning Los Angeles-based financial services company alongside her father, Stanley L. Compton.
She is nationally recognized for her work aimed at educating her peers -- the Gen-Xers and Young Professionals -- about the importance of having a sound financial future. Shannah is currently penning her first non-fiction book that will offer Gen Xer’s and Young Professionals unique financial strategies aimed at helping them achieve the ultimate goal of a solid financial foundation.
Shannah’s message is simple: “You can have your iPod now and retire rich later.” While most experts say save, save, save – good advice by any measure – Shannah has found a way to offer young people a financial plan that will provide them financial security without eliminating their lifestyle.
