TOP IDEA: Rachel Puckett What do you think is Gen Y's unique take on social entrepreneurship? How can we harness social media, internet savy and our Gen Y work expectations (ex: fulfillment at work or efficiency) to further social causes while still making a salary? What are some innovative models of non-profits or socially responsible businesses that we can attribute to our Generation? I'm thinking private/public blends or companies that also found non-profits (ex: Google.com & Google.org). How can WE contribute?

We started with the belief that the key to improving our world lies in uniting the next generation of leaders to develop globally impactful innovations. To this end, Kairos has built a member base consisting of some of the brightest students from top universities around the world. Along with guidance from some of today’s foremost leaders, these students are working together to use entrepreneurship and innovation in tackling some of today’s most daunting issues including alternative energy, education, and health. Kairos members hold a common belief that they will ultimately Do Well by Doing Good.

Mazarine I'm not sure I would agree the nonprofit system is broken, it is a bit complex, it isn't generally easy, but it does work.

Rachel, I think more hybrid socially responsible businesses will emerge in the near future. Toms shoes, Give water, and others are moving in the right direction with this sustainable social entrepreneurship where revenue is being generated, the world is being improved, and they don't have to beg since they have great products that people would buy in general.

Ankur, neat site I'm just reading it now, how does one get involved with the group? Is it exclusive or open to all college entrepreneurs? I'm off to Arizona State University this fall and am an entrepreneur, my major is business management entrepreneurship since I couldn't decide on a "real" major.
