I have diverse experience writing in various fields for many purposes, including magazines, newspapers, and online venues. I am currently a staff writer and copyeditor for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Information and Communications, as well as the institutional social media coordinator for the entire university. I serve additionally as the assistant public information officer for campus.
I've combined my talents as a writer and manager with my knowledge of public relations, community-building, and brand development through blogging and social media to drive the social media strategy and implementation at UW-Platteville, which includes specific colleges, departments and programs. I provide assistance and support to faculty and staff in the development, maintenance, measurement, and growth of strategic social media marketing, as well as maintain the social media presence of UW-Platteville Chancellor Dennis J. Shields. As assistant public information officer, I am part of the emergency incident command structure.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in English-Professional Writing, but it has been a combination of life and work experience that has taught me the critical skill of 360-degree thinking. I love learning new things, solving problems, and persevering when everyone else has given up.
I am passionate about what I do and happy to work hard doing it.
