I am a Human Resources professional with experience shaping and growing a College Internship Program, with more than 100 participants each summer. My knowledge of HR spans beyond college recruiting to candidate experience, benefits, and compensation. I am a “big picture” thinker with a pension for taking on difficult challenges and finding solutions.
I am a continuos learner seeking to develop and increase my knowledge of various HR functions such as employee communications, employee relations, and retention strategies. Recently I have become immersed in Social Recruiting, learning how to create brand awareness and meaningful relationships among passive and active candidates. I am always looking to the horizon for new social recruiting tools and their uses, and HR best practices.
• Perform full life cycle recruiting for college talent including the campus recruiting strategy, interviewing, and onboarding for 100+ interns each summer in 2008 and 2009
• Manage the offer process for 54 senior interns that converted to full time since 2008
• Coordinate the F1 student visa process and the H1B visa process
• Implement and communicate relocation packages for our early-experienced talent
• Developed and executed a social recruiting strategy for the Talent Acquisition Group utilizing LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter; developed a social media guide for Amway recruiters
• Create cross functional programs for summer interns including the Reverse Career Fair and Executive Speakers
• Develop and facilitate the West Michigan Intern Olympics with each company; attained a special segment on the local morning news and various West Michigan media coverage
• Coordinated large scale interviews with hiring managers, and performed phone screens with intern candidates
• Executed all onboarding activities for interns, including drug screens and background checks
• Interacted cross functionally with multiple departments including IT, Finance, Research and Development, Marketing, Product Supply, and Manufacturing
• Drafted new Employee Handbook for internal and contract employees
• Supported recruiters by writing job descriptions and sourcing candidates
