About Me

I grew up around Dallas, TX until I graduated and moved to Orlando, FL for a year and a half to attend a technical school, while working full time, to become a professionally trained and certified technician for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. After graduating, I returned to Dallas to work for a local dealer and hone my skills as a tech. Fast forward two years and you will find me as a talented technician still earning an average income and wondering if my efforts were ever going to pay off. I eventually decided that I had to find something else or I would end up spending the rest of my life fighting to simply make ends meet.

My solution was to wash the grease off my elbows, wrap a tie around my neck, and join what is known as the “white collar” work force. Initially, part of me felt like I sold out, while another part of me loves the respect that being part of the business world commands. Now I earn a living by forging relationships with other people and solving problems in a business sense instead of a mechanical one. I currently work as an Internet Marketing Consultant for ReachLocal, Inc. where I help our clients reach their goals on a much grander scale than I could ever accomplish by fixing a motorcycle. This requires developing new skills and experience in order to better serve my clients, but I have always enjoyed a challenge and I am a strong believer that a day shouldn’t go by without learning something new.

As sad as it is to say, I do not currently own a bike because I sold mine to pay for tuition. Oh yes, did I mention – I am once again working full time and going to college at night to earn a bachelors degree, which my technical education did not provide. Nobody ever said it would be easy!

I have always considered myself to be a well rounded individual and there many things that I find enjoyable in life. This ranges of course from bikes to business, as the title of my blog implies, but also other things like art, cooking, and anything else that I might stumble across that I find interesting.
