I have found a mental disorder that I have become rather stuck on. It's called antisocial personality disorder. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this specific disorder. It's has got to be one of the most troubling disorders I have ever seen, if not the most.

To give you an idea, almost all the kids I worked with had other diagnoses aswell: ADD/ADHD, conduct disorder, attachment disorder, PSTD, MR/DD, bipolar, mania, borderline personality, schizophrenia, etc. The only thing we could do for these kids is act as a holding pen. They were eventually shipped to another placement, and will do so for the rest of their lives, most likely.

Therefore, all persons with asd will have several other disorders as well. Asd seems to be the label placed on a person who has so many things going wrong with them that they don't fit into any other disorder, but all other disorders at the same time. It's kind of a catch all, if you will. Which is why so many go unhelped. It's hard to deal w/multiple mental conditions.

Kareneck: Cope how? Making a living is certainly hard, but even harder is being in the space where you don't sound as coherent as you ordinarily do.

R E Bradley: I really like that quote. Being open to learning is a gift in itself and is the basis for real knowledge. Its taken for granted, methinks.
