Ryan Paugh Even though I'm currently living in Madison, WI I'd really love to move back to the East Coast soon to be near more friends and family. I've sold my girlfriend on the idea of coming with me. Her first pick is somewhere in North Carolina. My first pick is somewhere in/around Boston, MA. She thinks Boston is too cold + doesn't have enough of an artsy scene. I guess I'm not really sure. I figured I'd leave it up to the experts. Any thoughts guys?

Devin Chasanoff My start-up went belly up, but I've got a fire burning to do great things now more than ever! Trying to get an entry-level VC position in NYC or a position at a growing tech company where I can take some serious responsibility employing my skills in strategy, finance, and marketing. Any and all help would be enormously appreciated!!!

Tim Ferro Ok people, first item of business on the meetup is where? Vote now for either Tysons or Clarendon. Next would be the date March 19th or 22nd?

Ed Barrientos: I would also vote for Tysons.

Randy Domolky The economy really seems to be picking up in terms of activity, deal flow and just everyone having a more positive attitude. Maybe it helps that Spring is finally in the air? Keep it up America!

Randy Domolky I need your help! We are considering an investment in HitFix. They are an entertainment content web site. Are you able give it a quick look and let me know what you think of their presentation and content? I have developed a short 60 second survey that will help us with our due diligence. Would you be able to take the survey? Pls spend 60 seconds on the web site at www.hitfix.com and then link to the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/GTMTWM2. Your answers are completely confidential. Thanks!

Randy Domolky I would think that they are generally good and that you would learn a lot depending on who is the professor and the guest speakers. Make sure you ask lots of questions such as what would be the venture capitalist perspective on all the issues as well. Have fun!

Tim Ferro I noticed there are no events planned. Let's get a NOVA networking event planned. Those are way move convenient than trekking into DC to meet up!

Randy Domolky: I agree! How about Tysons Corner or Arlington.

Tim Ferro: I can do either but I would prefer Tysons. Panache?

Randy Domolky When I am in one of my networks, I want to go next to one of my other networks but I am not seeing that link without navigating back to my home page. Am I missing something or can you add that capability to your site? Thanks.

Randy Domolky Just look at what you can say in 500 characters versus 140. That says a ton. Similar to PT, I am not so interested in "OMG, I think I just saw my econ professor at Starbucks!" 500 characters is insightful and thoughtful but not quite thorough or even voluminous on any given subject. If I want thorough, I will check the Discovery Channel or wikipedia. (350 characters)

Randy Domolky kinda along the same lines as the character limitations, have you thought about exactly how much to show in the preview of postings on my home page? Many times I would like to see more of the substance of a posting without having to click anything. Less clicking the better for me. I know more clicking means more ad insert possibilities but not as easy for users and I know that is a big goal for you.

It's not so much about ads, but about how information is displayed (and how much development time we have for it :)). Important information should be quickly legible and not cluttered with long text, so you can see many actions at once. We're in the process of making the fan feed more interactive though, maybe this means a "read more" that doesn't take you out of the page.

Randy Domolky I had found it very annoying in LinkedIn that I could barely finish a thought before bumping up against their 140 char limit. Maybe I am just too wordy? (See, even what I just wrote was 153 chars!!!) I agree. Thanks for the increase. I hope your servers can handle it!

Randy Domolky Does anyone know a good patent atty in the MD/VA area?

134 weeks ago from NOVA

Ed Barrientos: Erik Milch at Cooley Godward is very good. Let me know if you need an intro.

Randy Domolky: Thanks Ed. I need someone who is litigation focused and not just casually involved as I see in Erik's bio.
