Trained 2007 Events team, consulted long-distance, assisted on-site during 2007 Festival.
As events manager during the 2005 and 2006 festivals, I produced fourteen special events during each 10 day festival.
Responsible for all aspects of the events, including design, budgeting, writing events copy for publications, permitting, insurance, collaborating with venues and caterers, selecting and managing entertainment, creating and revising entertainment contracts, managing volunteers and security force, developing major beverage sponsorships, implementing product placement, working with publicists to manage press and talent, and on-site trouble-shooting.
During the 2004 festival, I interned for the Managing Director, learning the ins and out of running a large festival.
Highlights: Produced two student films, raised over $8K for production, and forged a producing pathway at the college in the cinema department. Co-chaired the Student Theater Association and managed and funded the entirety of student theater on campus. Created and produced the first Oberlin 24-hour Theater Competition while directing a documentary film of the experience. Sang jazz A Cappella all years, and performed in various theatrical productions.
