A lot has been floating around my head since listening to Seth Godin last week, I recently read his book "Linchpin", and after the webinar I read "The Dip" this past weekend. I have been focused on finding my own path to the redefinition of me and my personal brand for the next 5-10 years. Then I read a quote just now that pulled it all together in one sentence: It’s not enough to be the best at what you do; you must be perceived as the only one who does what you do. – Jerry Garcia

I think that everyone should Blog. Everyone should share their thoughts and their insights. At the same time, be careful: everything you say can (and will) be used against you in the court of public opinion... forever (hint: that is a long time). Remember all of the content a Blogger creates (post, tweet and comment) is a reflection of their personal brand and, for most, the only reflection of who they are in everybody else's eyes. The Career Ladder is dead, long live the Trust Ramp. Many people still use the analogy of the “Career Ladder” and think the ultimate goal is to get to the top rung, or at least as high as they can get:“Up The Ladder”. These same people also tend try and accomplish a “work life balance”, which implies we lead two separate but equally important existences:work and life. I defy these principles and pose a different spin, one unified theory: “The Trust Ramp” http://bit.ly/bl7SyF
