Paul Woods is a 20-something technology marketer from Brisbane, Australia.
Once a Unix Systems Administrator for the Queensland State Government, he changed religions to join Microsoft as a Technology Specialist, focused on developing the local partner community around BizTalk Server, Microsoft’s Business Process Management System. Paul jumped from Microsoft to join one of the Partners he worked with – Data#3, where he now leads the Marketing Communications team.
Holding both Marketing and Information Technology degrees means that Paul has that highly sought after ability to translate from geek to business and back again. A skill that comes in handy when marketing to all the people who influence a technology purchase decision (from the Systems Administrators and developers, right through to the C-level and the board).
A regular speaker to business and technical audiences, Paul’s passion lies across technology, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Of note, Paul has spoken at Microsoft TechEd, and represented Gen Y at the Queensland Government ICT Skills Summit in June 2006.
When not focused on his day job, Paul is doing his best to figure out how to live and breathe the 4 hour work week, and become a Red Bull Air Race pilot. Not quite there yet (on both counts!)
Paul writes a blog focused on B2B Technology Marketing, and also runs www.thenewpaperclip.com, which has helped over 100,000 unique visitors to learn how to use Microsoft Office 2007.
