Currently studying in order to market my own Writing in a Pilot Program for Entrpreneurs. I also passed the NY State Real Estate Licensing Exam and then was Licensed in NY in July 2011 I find myself promoting Concerts + Events on my blog personal Fun Events In The USA, while looking for fulfilling work in Casting, Performance, and Stage Management! I tend to be a busy person .
I have quite a bit of experience in Business Administration/Event Planning, and Sales. While working at GreenPoint Bank Headquarters on Park Avenue in NYC, I was the Controller's Sr. Administrative Assistant, where I organized and planned Headlands' (California) and GreenPoint's Golf Event celebrating the BAHS-GreenPoint Bank merger in addition to planning in-house and off-site events for the Controller's and Board Member/Executive Group.
Prior to that I assisted in the planning of several events for Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette (DLJ) through the former ASA Agency in NYC, and sales seminars for SWIFTSCAN Associate's OSHA Product launch, while working for them as a Consulting Executive Assistant.
Why do I do this, because, I am also a Performer, Director/Writer and a Freelancing Lyricist/Composer affiliated with Broadcast Music Inc. (not in-office) and was the youngest member of The American Film Institute (AFI) back in the 1970s. I caught the Directing/Acting bug on Jack Lord's Hawai'i Five-O set as a toddler and as 'The baby, Pretty in Pink' on the set of Robert Redford's 'The Candidate,' and studied the hula and several languages, even appearing as a Baby MC and Lei Girl, with many of Elvis' Hula Gals and Guys, before leaving the beautiful islands of Hawai'i for the NYC tri-state area as a child. Returning regularly to the Southwestern USA, I vowed to attend college somewhere west of the Rockies. Getting accepted early decision at Pepperdine University brought me back out to the west, but disappointed my friends and family from Dartmouth University. However, at Pepperdine U., is where studying Theatre Arts (Performance, Design, Technical) and Music (Vocal Performance)under such notable instructor as Charles Marowitz, Jerry Henderson, George Neilson (Acting); Dr. Osborne, Lynn Cole-Adcock, PhD (Chorus/Voice); Carolyn D(w)yer (Dance); David Taylor Technical Theatre and Design and Drafting,Production Management) took up ALL my waking AND sleeping hours and became an obsession.
Since leaving Malibu, I've had the pleasure of working with BPAC in NYC, Kean University in Union NJ(Lorenzo Lamas in 'Dracula,' Kean University's Dance Department, The Ten Tenors, Lakota Dance Theater, Peter Pan B&T Tour, ), The New 42nd Street, Inc. on Steppenwolf Theatre's Production of 'The Bluest Eye,' as a Wardrobe Supervisor/Dresser at The Duke Theater in NYC. Prior to that I was with TrippMixx as a Freelance Lighting/Event Technician on several events in The Puck Building in SoHo, NYC, and The Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, NYC: The Make-up Show (Trade Show),Z100s Trade Show Event, and Martin Lawrence Art Auction load-ins and load-outs. I've also worked for Victory Theatricals (www.literallyalive.com) as a Stage Manager/Lighting Designer/ Light Board Operator/Master Electrician on 'The Ugly Duckling at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater (a joint production with The Lincoln Center Y) in NYC, New York Theatre Workshop, Manhattan Theatre Club at Manhattan's City Center, The Vineyard Theatre, The Women's Project at The former Judith Anderson Theatre (Mary Mara in 'A Dream of A Common Language'), The Jewish Repertory Theatre, The American Globe Theater, Downtown Cabaret Theater, Downtown Cabaret Children's Theater, The Theater Artists' Workshop of Westport, CT, The now defunct Boston Post Road Stage Company, The Westport Country Playhouse, The 1st Spanish Music Awards, Joffrey II Ballet (when Madonna was with them), ABT II, The Call, The Flying Karamazov Brothers and others. My voice can be heard in movies, on television, and on the radio. As for my compositions and arrangements, they AND my voice can be heard on Annie Lennox' Diva CD, 'Legend In My Living Room (chorus vocals{gospel/spiritual} and arrangements), on Euphony's Relaxation Tape (Recorded 1985, released 2001), and John Mellencamp's 'Walk On' (2004), and on some works by Sly and the Family Stone (backup children!) and on drums on a certain Clapton record (late 1960s to 1970s). I've also done narration, digital directing and editing work through Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D) in NYC on various educational recordings. My Voiceover/ Narration site is currently under construction. (I don't do chronological work histories too well, due to all the info I would have to input).
