I'm a pretty stellar guy living in Ames, Iowa; studying Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University. Planning to graduate in December 2010, I plan to either enter the workforce shortly after, or pursue a higher degree, likely MS-IS. I strive to find dynamic tasks to challenge my technical engineering skills.
I have been working for the past 20 months in IT as a cross-platform systems administrator and systems integrator. It is a pleasantly-challenging line of work due to the dynamic environment and cutting-edge technologies with which I work. I have worked on a diverse set of projects that have tested my abilities ranging from low level code development to higher level project management and application deployment; both as a contributor and project leader.
The main bulk of my personal research has been devoted to the Iowa State Rockoon project. The project combines high altitude weather ballooning and remote controlled high-powered rocketry to reach the brink of space in a very efficient manner while tracking and recording the process along the way. The final product is to be put to the test during the month of August during the summer of 2010.
My technical passions include high performance computing, cross-platform systems integration, and applications of engineering principles in computational environments. I am a very versatile technically-oriented guy. I love having a good time doing things that constantly better both myself and others in whatever aspect possible.
Lots of technically-challenging, computer-intensive work to fix things, make things faster, prettier, cooler, or easier. I'm a Systems Architect and Integrator.
Involved in restructuring and reformatting entry level Aerospace Engineering courses including lecture presentations,
writing homework sets, creating and proctoring interactive examinations, and holding supplemental instruction
sessions for students. Weekly meetings with course instructor for updates and new assignments. Also providing
academic and social facilitation for new students.
Involved directly in aircraft systems reliability, maintainability, and safety. Duties included development and execution
of product reliability substantiation methods. Project management support including data organization and periodic
presentation of project status. Development of custom software tools for increased productivity of repetitive timeintensive
tasks.
Unique education stressing the relevance of computers and technologically-advanced principles in every aspect of our daily lives. I strive to apply my diverse knowledge in non-traditional ways to achieve non-standard results in life.
