About Me

Well I thought I would join up so you had a tame old fella around to bounce some ideas off.

I have been around along time.

I started out as a window dresser and display artist for a chain of shoe stores then moved on to become a display artist and restorer for the National Museum now called Te Papa http://www.tepapa.govt.nz

I left that job to go to Fiji to build a canoe for a NZ author who wanted to prove that the Gilbert Islanders could have sailed to NZ.

Got deported from Fiji due to political row and returned to NZ.

Sold second hand cars, vacuum cleaners door to door, cladding on the outside of houses for a while. Became a panel beater so I could take time off work to go touring with my band.

Got a job as a model maker for TV commercials, went on to write and direct TV commercials free lance. Then moved into writing and directing segments for a weekly arts programme.

After that I became programme director for a half hour weekly comedy show called skitz.

While I was doing this I worked on films doing model making and special effects with Peter Jackson (lord of the Rings) and Richard Taylor (Weta Workshop) http://www.wetanz.com
