Ryan Healy Is it just me or do you guys think "work/life balance" is a totally outdated paradigm? Why would you want to separate work from your life?

The important thing is to remember that there is a difference between "work" and "vocation." For those with a vocation, I can see how it might be easy for lines to blur. But I believe that the majority of the population does not have a vocation. And if you only work, even if you consider it a career, then your fulfillment will come from outside of your job and it makes sense to keep the two separate.

At times, I think I have balance in my life. I am able to adequately manage the things at work while still maintaining my lifestyle (ex: going to the gym, seeing friends, traveling etc) but there are also times when I don't have it and am not able to do those things. While its not ideal, I know that when I don't have great balance that it will come back, but if it goes on for too long of a stretch then I know I need to either do or say something to fix it.

Holly Hoffman Stoked that facebook is adding vanity URLs. It's a no brainer. So much better than that string of nonsense at the end.

Vanessa Alvarado I found a Surreal/Black Comedy horror movie called "Parents" this weekend. It was very creative & unique. Set in the 50s with extraordinary attention to detail. Needed tighter editing, but I still dug it. Anyone else seen it?

Vanessa Alvarado: Some scenes dragged on to long & the plot needed to be more engaging (plot, what plot?) but I liked the black comedy aspect of it.

The dark tone, odd subject matter and menacing Randy Quaid made it one of my fav cult films. Not to mention the offbeat soundtrack which introduced me to "Cerezo Rosa" by Perez Prado.

Sadly, not a lot of people have seen this quirky movie.

Vanessa Alvarado Watched “Night of the Demons” & “Night of the Demons 2”. In a word, hilarious. Both movies feature a tube of grotesque, demonic lipstick. In the second film a nun suits up to fight demons armed with a ruler and a super soaker filled with holy water. Yes.

I love the scene with possessed Angela dancing to Stigmata Martyr by the Bauhaus. However cheezy and stereotype-filled it is, somehow it just works perfectly. Second one was not my cup of tea, just pure cheeziness with little attempt to actually be horror. Different writer and director, as well.

Vanessa Alvarado: Creepshow's opening animation & ambition to emulate comics deserves an honorable mention, but the shorts weren't consistently good.

Neal Jansons Currently rereading Clive Barker's Imajica while I am recovering from swine flu. Just as good as ever.

Vanessa Alvarado Watched "Scream" for the first time in years this weekend. Not as good as I remembered it. Obvious adults playing teenagers hurts...

Neal Jansons: I recently rewatched it, too, but enjoyed it more. I really liked how the slasher tropes got subverted and turned on themselves.

Vanessa Alvarado: It succeeds greatly as a comedy, fails as horror. I still like it in all it's break-the-3rd-wall glory, a treat for horror fans.

Neal Jansons Watched "Antichrist", the new art-house indie horror flick that is getting such high reviews. Not nearly as good as I was hoping.

Ryan Stephens I loved Hugh MacLeod's "Ignore Everybody," about ways to be creative, but great life-lessons in general. Review here --> http://bit.ly/I1dHW

Ryan Stephens: I like his sketches (the ones I get). It's like 'black comedy' for me. Some I just don't "get" I guess.
