TOP IDEA: LadyBlueShame I would love to share my new site with you all. It's a live community for Urban Artists. There's a messageboard where members can interact with each other through similar artistry or by city, and an event calendar where members are free to post events happening in their city. http://TheUrbanArtWall.com If you love the idea, please sign up and please share! [Do it as a gift to me, it's my birthday today!]

LadyBlueShame I need to write/create a Terms of Use for my new site which launches in two weeks. It's a live community for urban artists. The central features are a messageboard and an event calendar which is entirely made up of member submissions. How would I go about creating a document like this?

I know I, personally, rarely read one all the way through because I know/have a good idea what I'm getting into, so I'll "agree" with little issue.

Melissa Breau So I've been struggling to find someone interested in publishing for an unpaid internship at our company... the shame of it is, that there is a god change of a job opening up in the near future for that person should they be a good fit. Any ideas for finding a college student who might be interested in learning a bit about publishing? (I've already submitted information to a number of local schools & Craigslist)

Melissa Breau: @Ashley - as much as I wish I could offering it to someone who telecommutes, my boss requires interns to be in the office 2x a week.

Ashley Feader: No problem, Melissa. Thank you for the response!

Harriet May I am trying an experiment with my blog, www.harrietmay.com. As of today I am writing it as if it were a novel. It may not work, it may be a disaster, but in some ways I think it feels more natural to me, and that this is not only an experiment but also a natural evolution. Have you changed your blog recently? Are you finding that it is growing naturally, or have you always had a clear idea of what it should look like and focus on?

It started out as more of a diary and now it's full of humor, advice and quips about life. Now I am pretty clear on what content I want to include on there. It's good to evolve a little bit and keep bettering your brand [or in your case, your blog].

There's a weird thing that happens with a lot of "careerists," I think, where they encounter this "rule" that says THERE MUST BE A BLOG. Then you wind up with myriads of people bending over backward in excruciating ways to try to find something to say as close to every day as possible because... THERE MUST BE A BLOG. There's a lot to be said for waiting until you are sure you have something to say before saying it. It's like Rainer Maria Rilke's advice in "Letters to a Young Poet"- if you wake in the middle of the night and think, "I must write," then write. Otherwise, don't.

I took a crack at a standard blog format, but just lately had to adapt it to my left-of-center approach. http://furtherelement.com

Harriet May Do you have the recommended 8 month emergency fund? Now that I've been on a salaried income for seven months, it's my first big savings goal. Do you treat your savings like an extra bill or do you struggle to put away money every month?

LadyBlueShame: I think that in order for me to save the amount I deem necessary, I will have to treat it like a bill :-/, which sucks because I hate bills.

After a while, you won't even miss it.My emergency fund is roughly 1 years salary. Doesn't need to be that high when starting out, but as we get raises, and homes, the risk of being laid off creates much more of a problem

Khaila Edward Do you think that applying to jobs in NY with a Philadelphia address on my resume hurts my chances? I usually indicate in my cover letter that I'm available on short notice for an interview and also if hired that I'd be available immediately It's only a 1.5hr train ride away and I have family in NY that I can stay by if hired. I'v been struggling with whether to use my family's address on my resume instead. Any experiences with this anyone?

I will start using the NY address to see if my application response rates improve. And I already do spend alot of time in NY so I will definitely be available in under two weeks if I do get a position. Let's see how it works out :) Thanks!

LadyBlueShame: Definitely use the NYC address - I noticed a subtle increase in responses when I used a Manhattan address vs. an outer borough address!
