Michelle Pinchev is currently an e-Marketing Specialist with Career Edge Organization, a not-for-profit that provides internship opportunities for educated and qualified job-seekers who face barriers to employment. Having studied psychology and communications, Michelle has sought career opportunities that combine these two passions. Her work experience – including journalism, staffing, project coordination, event planning and marketing – has given her a unique set of skills and knowledge in the areas of employment, human rights, communications and social media. Michelle holds a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Marketing Career Edge Organization and it's three Paid Internship programs - Career Edge, Ability Edge and Career Bridge. As e-Marketing Specialist, my responsibilities include outreach, events and online communications such as our quarterly newsletter and our social media networks.
On a one-year contract with Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, my role was to coordinate their provincially funded initiative Business Takes Action, an awareness campaign aimed at promoting the benefits of hiring Persons with Disabilities. My role included planning events, delivering workshops and presentations, designing marketing materials, developing and maintaining the website and overseeing communications including the monthly newsletter and ongoing outreach with the goal of increasing employer support and membership.
At Manpower I had the benefit of working regularly with both job-seekers and employers to provide staffing solutions to companies in various sectors including telecommunications, customer service, financial services and manufacturing. I was responsible for maintaining and building relationships within key accounts as well as proactively seeking placements for Manpower employees. I left Manpower after relocating from Kitchener to the GTA and have since worked in the not-for-profit sector.
During my four years at Wilfrid Laurier University I volunteered heavily with WLU Student Publications as an editor for their award-winning weekly news publication.
