While my resume shows some interesting points, it doesn't define who I am. I am much more than a list of titles, dates, and achievements.
I am a leader. I influence people and organizations to make changes that positively impact their business. I don't have to be in a position of "influence;" no matter what position I hold, I try to persuade stake holders to take risks and make improvements as I see the opportunities.
I am candid. I have opinions (often strong ones) and I'm not afraid to let them be heard. However, I'm not pretentious and assume my opinions are always right; but I do feel like I need to voice them and be heard if a team is going to achieve great things. Likewise, I give others the time and space to voice their opinions to foster diverse thinking and decision making.
I try to help people improve their lives. Bottom line for me is people--and if a product has to be "spun" to be useful, I don't care to promote it. I want to help simplify lives and help them get more out of their life. The world is full of great products and service, and full of great marketing...I want to work with great products and/or services.
That is who I am, and who I seek to be. In quite the same vein, I want to work for an organization that values my opinions, gives me the freedom to take risks and make needed changes (at my level of influence), and who has a product that really is making people's lives better.
I was transferred to this location to prepare the plant to be sold within a few months. I led the 7 employee team, keeping them engaged and working safely; had P&L responsibility; continued to produce high quality feed, efficiently; and bridged an effective transition between companies during the sale.
As a plant manager trainee, I assisted the plant manager in all his duties and learned to work all plant positions. After 10 months I passed an internal assessment with the highest rating possible. I assumed the full accountability and P&L responsibility for the facility during my final 4 months at the location, managing 11 employees.
