Alejandra Hi folks! I think we've all seen the stat by now: the fastest growing demo on Facebok is women 55 and older. The cliche that social media isn't just for kids is also quite prevalent. I work at AARP (yep - the group that advocates for seniors) and wanted to share a video we produced on Baby Boomers and their online behaviors! Check it out - let me know what you think of it - and feel free to share/use it if you like it! Thanks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k6NRGAT7ZI

Armin: Hi Alejandra, many thanks for the video, its good to know we seniors are seen as dinos by modern technologies

Matthew Hurst: I'm curious as to the source of the stats you used in the video; let me know if I can help provide any updates!

Armin Duplicate content is not the best way to get PR, although blogs tend to gain PR faster than webpages.

Matthew Hurst: duplicate content will also penalize you in SEO, so consider this is your content strategy

Armin: Yes, in fact its one of the main reasons for getting penalized in Google, you should read carefully Google Webmasters guidelines

Cameron Plommer What music do you listen to when you write? Lately I've been using the Chopin station on Pandora.

Meghan Skiff SOS! This might be a silly question, but if any of you can help I will love you forever. I'm getting ready to submit my independent study from this semester by posting it on my blog. I have a series of learning journals. I'd like to post them as blog posts, but I don't want my subscribers to be slammed with 12-15 emails. Is there a way to post without my subscribers receiving an email? Thanks friends :)

I've been building and managing websites for the past 11 years for clients. So, I wanted more flexibility with my own hosting.

I still have my Wordpress.com account. I did a quick search and found this link:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscriptions/#troubleshooting . This page has a link to "Manage Blog Subscriptions and "Subscription Settings." Hopefully, one of those areas is what you're looking to find. Also, here's a general page about the blog subscription widget: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/blog-subscription-widget/

Bryan McDonald I finally updated my WordPress Blog, www.REbliss.com, to the latest release today. I am glad I waited to update because my WordPress Theme needed some tweaking to work well with WordPress 3.0 and I had several error messages because I was updating from WordPress MU. But because I waited to update my blog these things were easily fixed with a quick Google Search. I was curious to know if everyone else always updated their blog to the latest WordPress release as soon as it is available.

I upgraded to the latest version as soon as it came out and it was such a disaster in terms of errors and bugs I had to revert back.

Bryan McDonald: Louise, Thank you for the reply! It is good to know you wait too. And how frustrating to have to revert back to an older release because of errors.

Brigid Slipka Have you changed the topic or scope of your blog? How did you do it? Advice? Did you also change your url? My blog is about fundraising/philanthropy/nonprofits, but I'd like to expand it to allow me to write about all the other things that pop up in my head. The best topic I can think of that encompasses everything I want to write about is "philosophy" or even "living." On the one hand, that feels so broad, but on the other hand, I don't want to limit myself.
