Quick question to all you Brazen folks regarding Personal Branding.
The other day, I was speaking with a friend during a class and we discussed transparency in social media. He said that you should have your Facebook/Twitter accounts open for everyone to see. I, however, said that users have the right to choose what content they put up on social media sites.
So, my question: to have a successful personal brand, do you need to have complete transparency across different social media platforms?

Your brand does not depend on whether or not you protect your tweets or make your Facebook private, it revolves around the fact that you deliver value to your readers/viewers in a consistent manner. That could mean 1 or 1,000,000 people depending on your goals and milestones. 105 weeks ago

A client of mine is getting a "“Are you sure you want to do this?" errorwhen he tries to update widgets and/or install plugins. We've tried switching browsers from ie to firefox, he deleted unnecessary plug ins. I know I'm not giving too many details but the blog is right here Rxtrace.com. standardd WP install, no problems up until last week. I can login and change things around just fine. Is there anything else we should look for on the superficial level I can tell him to try.

Godaddy is pretty cheap, and you can do a WP install fairly quickly. Search for coupons on the net (where else) to get a better discount. Lots of people say bad things about them, and it is true they are one of those "to big to fail" hosts, which mean you might not get super-personalized support but in the times I've dealt with their support staff (many) they have been adequate and quick to resolve the issues. Too bad their marketing is straight up sexist.

Whoops. this was a reply meant for Zack Zahan's hosting Question. Can this be moved???? sorry. 106 weeks ago

I also use a very small, family owned web hosting company called Parcom.net for my personal hosting and I find them to be amazingly awesome with customer service, and wordpress works fine on their servers. 105 weeks ago

What is your greatest weakness? How are you trying to over come it?

I figured out after my math final today that I hate math so much because the details are just as important as the big picture. Like you Trace, I love big ideas and taking the time to ensure that the details are in place is just frustrating. I am actually working on this by challenging(or torturing?) myself with more math classes. Math is great at disciplining you to PAY ATTN TO THE DETAILS! 112 weeks ago

Even though I commented on how much I loathe manipulating numbers, i'd say my real weakness is that I have a tendency to spend more time analyzing a problem than working on the solution. I am working on this by breaking down my big ideas to tiny goals and announcing then to people who will hold me accountable. Practicing being more action oriented and also trying to surround myself with more action people. 112 weeks ago
