TOP IDEA: Matt Stratton Aggregation Is The New Black http://mattstratton.com/tech/aggregation-is-the-new-black I think that we are going to see information aggregation becoming the most important concept in the next “wave” (no pun intended) of user technology. It may not be identified as “aggregation” (perhaps it will have some sexy name along the lines of “social networking”, like “consolidated media”), but mark my words – at the base, it will be all about aggregation.

Isaac Oben Thanks Matt..I am told using Shadow copies will help in recovering network delete files

Matt Stratton: Yup. There are lots of solutions around this problem. The Recycle Bin just isn't one of them :)

Isaac Oben Anyone have an idea why when you delete a document/folder from a network share it is permanently deleted and as oppose to going to the recycle bin?

Basically, when you put something in the recycle bin, it simply moves it to a hidden folder on the same volume (and each user has a different Recycler folder on each volume). On a network share, if you had this type of functionality, it would require a Recycler folder on the volume for each user who ever deleted something...and it could lead to massive admin headache as these recycler folders grew out of control.

Cameron Plommer So I'm thinking of moving my wordpress blog to self hosted. As a person with little html and css knowledge is this a good idea/how easy is this to do? I want to make more design changes and add plugins, which is the main reason for the change. Can all the necessary information be learned online easy? Also would a premium theme (Thesis) make this easier for a non-techie?

Cameron,

To answer your questions:

1) Only pay for a theme if you have already blogged for a few months and see the potential value. I use Ahatualpa at http://windmillnetworking.com

2) Many webhost providers automatically install WordPress. I use BlueHost. There are a number of others out there as well that you could use.

3 - I use the theme that I do because the options to make changes are there in the "Theme Options" menu without knowing CSS.

4) Correct!

To @Neal's point, many of the themes available in the "Extend" section of WordPress.org include customization panes, but learning a little HTML and CSS can't hurt either. As always, this group is a great place to post questions.

I also work with SharePoint (who doesn't, these days), but stay as far away from Exchange as I possibly can (nothing specific about Exchange, per se, I just hate managing mail :) )
