Anybody know any front-end web developers looking for a full time job? We here at grove-marketing.com in Concord need someone with SOLID html, css, and javascript skills as we are growing and taking on more and more projects. Check us out online and get back if you are, or know anybody that fits the bill. Thanks so much Brazen Boston.

There is a clear value gain as Im sure you know-primarily lead generation. But from what Will has explained to me, we've never really had to go and "get" new clients. 100% of our business has come to us through referrals. We've really just been too busy with work we can bill for to get to our own site. We're all a little ambarrassed about it too. We've also neglected to post our work with http://connect.curaspan.com/ and http://www.azabugardens.com/.
As you can see we could really use another programer. We're not getting to everything that should be done. 111 weeks ago

Just a quick poll to get to know everyone. Do you freelance, own your own business, or work for someone else? How many people are in your company?

Hi Mariusz, is there a reason you've settled on Aptana instead of Visual Web Developer? It's not OSS, but it is free, and in my experience, quite feature-filled.

i'm trying to get my college to install open source web authoring software (aptana studio) to use with students. it struck me, that if they were taught to use it first before moving to any WYSWIG tools, they could produce more standard compliant and leaner code. Aptana doesn't work in visual mode, so they have to hard code everything. what do you think ?

VWD - never heard of, I'll have a look :) I still like the idea of Open Source though.I'd never think look for free stuff at Microsoft's site :) 128 weeks ago

Just set up a new blog http://cjbowker.com. I would love to hear what you think.
What's the best way to set up threaded comments? I want to add the option to reply to another person's comments. I thought it would do it automatically but doesn't seem to. Thank you for your help.

It looks great! I'm really picky about blog designs, but think yours looks nice and clean. I like the motto too :) Great job! 129 weeks ago

What javascript framework are you guys using at the moment... Iw as originally scriptaculous then moved to mootools and now loving JQuery... I have found JQuery to be the easiest to use and I can always find premade scripts online.

It looks like a little star and is to the right of the text "Upload/Insert". I think this method has a 2MB limit.
If your pdf is larger then 2MB you need to upload the file either with ftp (does not work with hosted wordpress.com sites) or you will need to host it somewhere that you can link to like https://www.dropbox.com/

Lightning round:
Display: block; float: left;
or
Cross-browser inline-block?
Jenna Tollerson:
This doesn't answer the question exactly but technically if you float an element it is automatically display:block; Adding it is overkill.:) 138 weeks ago

For those still on Wordpress.com (instead of self-hosted Wordpress.org). Why haven't you switched?

wp.com is limited in included plugins/themes, but it gets the job done. a good site is (mostly) good content, not just look/feel. 143 weeks ago
