I never understood why all my schoolmates hated story problems. So what if the grandfather left his 17 sheet to be arbitrarily divided among his four grandchildren, or Farmer Joe has just 24 feet of fencing for his sheep pen? Strip away the veneer of civilization, and you're left with mathematics.
People like Steven Levitt, Nate Silver, Billy Beane, and Ken Pomeroy have taken story problems to the next level. My goal is to join them. Data is plentiful, computing power copious, but both are outpaced by the unanswered questions in the world, and I haven't stopped thinking about them. Affordable health care, financial risk, and combining Netflix recommendations with eHarmoney's userbase are all solvable within my lifetime.
I'll get started after the Badgers game.
I pay reinsurance bills, make sure the reinsurance inforces are up to date, and answer questions regarding reinsurance.
Reinsurance is essentially when a company buys part of another company's life insurance policy on another person, taking part of the risk with a return of part of the premiums. If I do my job right.
It's what you think. Protip: park in Grainger Hall for Kohl Center events, and park at the Fluno Center for Camp Randall games.
