About Me

* Database and application developer and support.
* Application support & development, especially in a financial services/business environment.
* Microsoft SQL Server, Management Studio, Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer.
* Team environment or individual projects.

I thrive in an environment where there is a variety of projects and tasks, along with the opportunity to leverage my existing knowledge and skill set into new knowledge and skills, and apply them to new situations.

I've always explained my ability to pick up new computer-related skills as being similar to the "universal language translator" in Star Trek (TOS - "Metamorphosis"): Some concepts are universal; the only question is how to apply them in a specific situation.

I'm proud to call myself a computer geek, but I'm equally proud that I can "speak English" to non-techies, and am frequently asked to proofread both technical and non-technical documents.

An endorsement that speaks for itself: Throughout my career as a consultant (self-employed and otherwise), I have had multiple clients offer me full-time positions with their firms.

And I'm especially proud that throughout my professional career, all my employers and clients have known that they could bring me a question/problem/issue, and that it will be resolved in a timely manner.

I enjoy the camaraderie of competitive team sports; I've been instrumental in organizing various games in my community. Our Sunday morning (pickup) softball game is in its ninth season. I also play league softball and baseball.
