About Me

Born in Houston, Texas, 1952, with relatives in South Louisiana. Spent my teenage years in Santa Barbara, CA. Attended NMMI in Roswell, NM and graduated high school at Catalina Island School. Attended Sam Houston State Univ.(1987 BBA Finance), American Intercontinental Univ.(2004 MBA), and Kaplan University (2010 BS Paralegal Studies, Magna Cum Laude).

I want to change careers because I realized a few years ago that I have been in the wrong field... wrong for me. Also, I feel that corporate America has put me out to pasture. I'm not ready for that. Originally, I chose law because I felt that it was much more tolerant of age in the workplace. However, in getting my Paralegal degree, I realized that I really like law and I have a great talent for what the job entails: writing and research. Every one of my law professors asked me if I was planning to go to law school. If I could figure out a way not to run up a six-figure student loan to do it, I would.

In the few weeks since I graduated I can already see that sending out resumes is not very productive. I think that networking is the way to go. I look forward to getting to know some people who are already in the legal field. I am a good listener and invite questions, suggestions, and advice.

One last thing: My wife and I are very interested in relocating back to North Florida or the Gulf Coast.
