About Me

I just finished my 6 month internship as an editorial intern for Woman's Day Magazine, and am currently employed at an art museum and coffee shop in the New Brunswick/Highland Park, New Jersey area. I'm a junior at Rutgers University, majoring in English and minoring in Women's & Gender Studies and Linguistics. I love reading and writing, and I am especially seeking opportunities that will allow me to travel.

Interests
I'm a walking anachronism. I love learning new things, reading old books, using existing knowledge to fuel new ideas, and providing knowledge that can help others make informed decisions. I read children's and young adult novels, memoirs, travel essays, book reviews, food critiques, historical narratives, political narratives, and even information about sports. Give me anything to read, and I'll devour it. I want to become self-sufficient. I'm volunteering at a bike library where I'm learning to build a bike, and I am trying to master knitting and cooking. I hope to keep a garden or, at least, window boxes. I like the idea of doing everything myself without having to enlist the labor of others.
Goals
  1. Internships in publishing or writing
  2. Complete my children's book
  3. Find fellowships that will allow me to travel abroad next summer
  4. Find more leadership opportunities
  5. Teach English abroad
