About Me

Who am I? Good question.

I am a born and bread Aucklander, more specifically from the North Shore. That’s in New Zealand for all my international readers.

I am the major contributor and general dogsbody over at Confusion Management. My personal blog is also situated at lukesnedden.com

I have taken a year off and I am travelling around Australia with my Fiance while she Locums all over. Check out her blog over at Wanderingeyez

I am studying at Massey University in the Extramural programme to further my Financial Education while on the move. I have been involved with some interesting companies in my quest to learn, gainful employment has been found at the following;

SKYCITY Casino, Auckland - Inventory Manager: this was a great job straight out of University/College, it taught me how to manage conflict, and what a powerful tool excel is! It was interesting working for a gaming organisation, Casino’s will always fascinate me, I have learned however that I am not good at gambling so the only money they will take form me is for food and drink.

Medical Assurance Society - Advisor: My first real grounding in the financial services sector. MAS is a great Member centric organisation, offering a broad spectrum of financial products to Medical Professionals. MAS taught me the value of providing excellent service and how to manage time more effectively.

Capital + Merchant Business Finance - Client Services Manager: The fast paced finance company sector. In New Zealand there was a thriving mezzanine finance company sector, due to investor confidence evaporating this company went into receivership shortly after I joined it. Check out the industry carnage here. My fellow workmates were fantastic it was a real shame we could not continue working together.

The National Bank of New Zealand, Institutional and Commercial Banking - Assistant Relationship Manager, (ARM). The second big corporate of my career. The Black Horse, as it is known, was a great insight into how a bank works. It is definitely not a nimble as the smaller organisations I have worked for, it is a behemoth, it is THE BANK! I would still be there if the opportunity to travel had not come along.

Being an ARM allowed me to tackle reasonably complex lending structures and help the Relationship managers and clients achieve outcomes that were beneficial to all.

So that brings me to lukesnedden.com.

lukesnedden.com was created to allow me to share the story of my journey from now. I have given you an insight into what I have done in my working life above, and what I am trying to do for the future in this post here. I hope that this journey will open up networks and possibilities for me in the future.
