I'm sick of being overqualified and doing grunt work. This is good because for four years I've been a total underachiever. So.... what to do now?

I think it's time to admit that I am a grown up and still don't know what I want to be. My plans for "trophy wife" have not worked as planned. Argh.

About Me

Lindsey Anderson works for the goverment, blogs and hosts a weekend radio show. Seven days a week of work is worth it to get out of debt, pay the bills and get to do the things she loves. On air at Curve 94.3 in Winnipeg, Canada. www.curve943.com

This is not my full resume... I want to cry when I list all the jobs I have held. The bottom line is this - I can write, edit, present. I have a voice for radio and a face for television. I can lift 50 pound boxes. I'm awesome.

Work History

  • The Faceless Corporation
  • Grunt
  • June 2006 to Present
  • I work in a warehouse for a Crown Corporation in Manitoba. I took this job four years ago as a means to be employed while figuring out what I want to do with my life and ended up liking the corporation and the job, oddly enough. Now I'm scared I've been working in the warehouse a little too long and am looking to find jobs within it that are a little more gratifying to my skills and education.

  • Curve 94.3
  • Weekend Announcer
  • May 2010 to Present
  • Radio, you're my first love... let's just sleep together til we decide to go official...

  • Cafe 100.7
  • Morning News and Sports
  • December 2005 to May 2006
  • The job that forced radio and me to break up.

  • CJOB
  • Content Producer
  • June 2003 to November 2004
  • I helped put together a talk radio program called "Adler on Line". It was great.

Education

  • Red River College
  • Did not complete my degree, Creative Communications
  • 2001 - 2002
  • I received better broadcasting training in high school, which was why I got a job right after my first year of the two year program and never looked back.

  • Tec Voc High School
  • High School/Vocational, Radio and Television Broadcasting
  • 1997 - 2000
  • This is really where I learned to write, edit, shoot, create, present, organize, etc. I owe more to this program than I ever will to my college.

Interests
Music, tattoos, current events, blogging
Goals
  1. To write a damn book already!
  2. To get a really solid radio demo together and maybe get back into the field I love
  3. Look for freelance voice/writing work
