About Me

I established Hamilton Writing Services to pursue my passion for writing and support professionals through resume writing, cover letters, personal bios, professional profiles, and college entrance essay reviews and assistance. For over 25 years I've supported those seeking to transition their careers, return to the job market, or expand their business through well-written business communications. For the past 18 years, I've served as a Resume Critique Consultant at local job fairs counseling job seekers on ways to strengthen their resumes for potential employers. I also talk with employers and recruiters about current trends, what they want to see on a resume, and the kind of candidate they seek to add value to their organization. As a freelance writer, my portfolio includes articles published in career-oriented magazines, human interest stories in specialty publications, contract technical writing, and guest blogging.

The blogs on my web page focus on resume writing, career advancement, and employment assistance. My guest blogs focus on business start-ups, new business development, personal finance and maintaining a balance between personal and professional roles.

I earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which included photojournalism; pursued Masters studies in business management and entrepreneurship from Strayer University, and studied under renown writer/speaker Bud Gardner at American River College, Sacramento, CA.

• Hired to totally revamp, write, edit and publish training curriculum for Customer Service Operations and subsequently Retail Sales for five regional call centers. Developed format design and created toolkit used to more easily write data. Facilitated online training that demonstrated new process of paperless roster input that saved time, improved efficiencies and helped team "go green". Assisted national IT group in pioneering system login program that streamlined process for more efficiency and faster turnaround. Called on to write training and career advancement materials for HR and other departments.
