I am happy to say that I'm finally starting the direction tonight for the PMP as I begin the class for the 35 hour requriement. This has been in the making for two years now, happy that it's finally happening!

It is NOT designed specifically to pass the PMP exam, but to teach the fundamentals of applied project management, which, oh by the way, will more than adequately prepare you to sit for the PMP exam and pass it.
We have a 17 year long, first attempt pass rate of 86% for English as Second Language (ESL) and 99.9% for native/near native speakers of English.....
More importantly, we are seeing a definite move by the early adopters to move away from knowledge based credentials towards competency based credentialing......

Guys, I need your help! I'm flying to Philly tomorrow for an evening wedding, and I have a ton of dresses, but am thinking they are boring. Which do you like best?
1 - http://bit.ly/7BIcAH - wore this to a summer wedding.
2 - http://bit.ly/6aBo73 - wore this to the Governor's Residence a couple years ago.
3 - http://bit.ly/6stAm7 - I've worn this a lot for birthdays and parties.
4 - http://bit.ly/4PWpca - the holiday party dress I already shared.
Help! I really don't want to buy a new one.

I did wear that one... most of the girls at the wedding were in black, including the bridesmaids! (is that an East Coast thing?) so I was a little uncomfortable at first, but ended up having a fabulous time and got lots of compliments. Philly rocked too; wasn't sure what to expect when we came in from the airport, but the city totally grew on me in our short time there :) 108 weeks ago

In fact, it is funny you should bring this up, because I was just about to post something in this group along the same lines! See above. 108 weeks ago

Although my employment hasn't formally changed in the last year, what is going on and the focus of what I do has changed a lot with what has been going on nationally in healthcare policy as well as our internal growth as an organization. 111 weeks ago

Is anyone in the digital space in Chicago finding any work-life balance here whatsoever? I love the city, but since I moved here 3 years ago I feel like I'm spending all my time working and very little enjoying the city I moved to. :-(

One of my resolutions/goals for next year that I'm still thinking through is to spend more time enjoying Chicago and friends/non-work life.
One specific thought I have (because I enjoy trying new restaurants & bars) is to try a new place every 2 weeks. Time Out Chicago would most likely guide my choices... 111 weeks ago

Just started Cleaving: A Story of Marriage, Meat and Obsession; which is Julie Powell's (the author of Julie and Julia) new book. It's excellent so far!

Warning: not for the squeamish - there are (obviously) detailed descriptions of butchering and slaughtering. 113 weeks ago

Does anyone use any tracking tools, spreadsheets etc. to log work they've done during the day? I'm thinking specifically for sales, freelance work, but I'd love to hear if anyone else uses something!

I have my public calendar with meetings, etc and then I also keep a private one that is my "time sheet". I add to it as I've been doing work, or at least at the end of the day # of hours worked on various projects. You can access this from iPhone too. 111 weeks ago

I kept track of all communications with every client. In busy season, I worked with 20-30 different clients a day. What I did was used the normal Outlook reminder feature to handle time sensitive stuff, but I got used to making a "task" in the name of each company I dealt with. When I received a phone call I would make action notes of what took place as a result of the conversation. I would track when I sent contracts, faxes, & emails because frequently I had to cover my butt. It was so useful if I sent quotes to people & found them calling back to get a lower price. Hope that helps! 100 weeks ago
