About Me

Lars is a Principal with KeyStone Search, a Minneapolis-based retained executive search firm which works with clients who resonate with KeyStone's values of being team-oriented, forward-thinking, balanced, and having concern for others.

Lars' practice consists of not-for-profit, foundation, higher education & other mission-driven clients who value a highly-committed search partner and a multiple-stakeholder engagement strategy for their leadership search process.

KeyStone Search is honored to serve as trusted advisors to those executives, leaders, and boards who share our philosophy and belief that culture matters. In 2009, we were awarded a MN Business Ethics Award.

In Dec 2011, Lars was selected by Twin Cities Business as one of the "200 Minnesotans You Should Know". He was also recognized with a "40 Under 40" award from Mpls-St. Paul Business Journal in 2007, called "the most networked man in the Twin Cities" by Minnesota Business magazine in Dec 2010, and selected as a "Minnesotan on the Move" by Finance & Commerce magazine in 2011.

He earned a BA in Economics from St. Olaf and his MBA from the U of MN's Carlson School of Mgmt. He also spent two summers in college working as a member of the Natl Touring BBQ Team for Famous Dave's of America competing in BBQ competitions across the upper Midwest.

Lars serves on the board of directors for CaringBridge (www.caringbridge.org) and advisory boards for MinnPost.com & the Public and Nonprofit Leadership Center at the U of MN (www.hhh.umn.edu/centers/pnlc/). He is a former advisory board member of Salvation Army - Twin Cities. He is also active with TEDxTC (www.tedxtc.com) and was featured in the book "How to Become a Nonprofit Rockstar: 50 Ways to Accelerate Your Career" by Rosetta Thurman and Trista Harris.

Lars makes his home in Roseville with his wife Maren and their three children. In his free time, he enjoys time with family, reading, creative writing, poker, and trying to become slightly less unhandy.
