I am a graduate Student and a writer pursing my Master’s Degree in “Writing Studies.” I am currently interning at Philadelphia Magazine in the online editorial department three days a week and working in the Athletic Communications department at Saint Joseph’s University doing sports writing. I am also a Times Correspondent for the Delaware County Daily Times (covering two townships)as well as a free-lance writer for the "Town Talk".
After college I went to law school for a year. I completed my first year and that summer asked myself "what the hell are you doing?" Writing has always been my passion and a week before I was due back to start my second year of law school, I withdrew.
I transferred into a graduate program and am so happy I found the courage to follow my heart and pursue something I really love. The path for law was forged for me, it would have been easy to just "stick it out" and keep going. I on the other hand like a challenge and I pride myself in choosing the path of least resistance. Be a writer is like following a path that is unknown but I am excited to make my own way.
I am a 'go-getter' and trying to get as much experience writing as possible. I started a blog in November, which I will be using for my thesis and hopefully future publication. Please feel free to check it out. I really enjoy writing it and it is called "20Something- Straight Up, On the Rocks or With a Twist". The blog is about life as a 20something... brutally honest (Straight Up), taking the road less traveled and sometimes the wrong one(On the Rocks) and finally making the best of the mess created (With a twist) www.Lanas20something.blogspot.com
