My research quoted at http://palltimes.com/articles/2010/08/18/news/doc4c6b3651a9e3a965472368.txt : "According to Kate Mendenhall, the executive director of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York (NOFA-NY), the organization recently reviewed U.S. Department of Agriculture organic consumer statistics for New York state that showed organic product sales are increasing. In 2002, total organic product sales were $12,920, while in 2008, total sales increased to $105,133."

Over on the Entry-Level Young Professionals network, Dr. Woody wants to know if passion for you work matters. I want to step it up a notch and take to the people who make the decisions: Can passion be substituted by a great work ethic? Maybe an employee is not "passionate" about the job, but works to full capacity every day, and keeps moving forward buoyed by professional and personal goals. Can an employer tell the difference?

Work History

  • Xerox Corporation
  • Junior Software Tester
  • September 2009 to Present
  • As a junior software tester I utilize both technical knowledge of software functionalities and analytical thinking to identify malfunctioning software, research to narrow down causes of malfunction, and compile reports to be entered in to database by senior software testers. I am also responsible for training newly hired junior software testers, and confirming functionality of pre-release versions of software in short time-frames. Major accomplishments in this position have included the standardization of report formats and report delivery mechanisms for all members of work group by designing a report template and creating a database for report submission. This has increased the speed with which new issues are received by software developers by 25%, contributing to an overall increase in software improvements per new release.
